Aion 2 global servers and transfers - factions, regions and October 14 plans

Choose the same region, faction and server as your friends if you want the same home server in global Aion 2. Each server houses one faction. Its paired opposing server supplies opponents in cross-faction content; that pairing does not mean the two servers are one shared home.

The publisher plans server transfers from October 14, 2026. Its transfer notice says transfers stay within the same faction and will initially be free. Early Access players will be restricted to transferring between Early Access servers, with commercial launch servers excluded. No exact opening hour or end to the free period is stated there.

The October 14 plan restricts Early Access transfers to Early Access servers of the same faction.

Playing together before a transfer

The transfer notice says all instanced content, including dungeons, is available across servers. That gives friends on different servers a way to join instanced content without treating a transfer as the only option. It does not state that regions share the same dungeon pool, that markets are shared, or that an opposing faction can join your party.

Steam and PURPLE users share the same servers, according to the launch FAQ. Your launcher is therefore separate from the region, faction and server choice. Korea or Taiwan progress does not carry into the global version.

Before committing to a server, have everyone check its exact name, faction and region in character selection. A server name in the published list is not a guarantee that creation is currently available. The transfer plan also does not promise that every destination will remain open.

Global faction pairs

The publisher's new-server and matchmaking notice separates Early Access from commercial launch servers. The following pairs were listed when this article was updated on October 7. Elyos is on the left and Asmodian on the right. The publisher says pairings can change.

The listed Siel and Israphel servers are opponents, not one shared home server. Pairings can change.

The publisher's October 5 Asia notice also lists those eight Asia pairs. Check that region's current notice when confirming an opponent; an old pairing is not a permanent rule.

Platforms and languages

The Steam pre-release FAQ introduced the global PC release and server locations in North America, South America, Europe and Japan. The later launch FAQ limits official platform support to Windows PC through Steam and PURPLE. It says controller play is possible but not officially supported.

UI and subtitles are available in English, French, German, Spanish from Spain, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Korean. Voice-over is available in English, Japanese and Korean. The language tab in Settings changes the game's language.

Players returning from the Steam test should also check the separate full-game installation requirement. That test installation and its reset are different from the October 14 plan for transferring a live global character.
