Aion 2 skill points: how many you get per level and where to spend them

Every Global class spends the same two budgets: skill points for active and passive skills, and stigma points for stigma skills. The skill builder holds both budgets for a class at any character level, shows what each skill level costs against them and keeps the build in the address, so a plan can be shared as a link. It covers Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter.

Points by character level

Skill points start at character level 4, stigma points at level 23. The cap is level 45.

10160
12240
20610
23761
301118

The totals are cumulative, so a character at level 30 has 111 skill points to spend in all, not 111 more than at level 29.

Each row holds the active and passive skills of one class.

What a skill level costs

Each class has 12 active skills and 10 passive skills that take skill points, plus Dodge, which is fixed at level 1. Every one of the 22 skills follows the same price list. The point cost is the cost of reaching that level from the one before it:

Skill levelPoints for that levelTotal from level 1
2 to 41 each3 at level 4
5 to 72 each9 at level 7
8 to 104 each21 at level 10

Points buy levels 1 to 10 of a skill. Skills can show higher levels, up to 40, but the levels past 10 are bonus levels: the builder lists them separately because they come from Daevanion, stigmas, equipment and status effects, not from points.

Raising a skill also needs a character level. Keen Strike, a Gladiator skill that is open from level 1, needs character level 10 for skill level 5, 19 for skill level 8 and 25 for skill level 10. A skill that opens later, such as Defiance, needs character level 40 for skill level 10.

What a level changes is shown for each skill. Keen Strike deals 51 damage at level 1, 322 at level 10, 480 at level 15, 602 at level 20, 796 at level 30 and 989 at level 40. The builder prints the text, cooldown and cost of the selected skill at the level you chose, next to the points that level takes.

What level 45 can afford

All 22 skills at level 10 would cost 462 skill points. A level 45 character has 203, so about nine skills can be taken to level 10 and the rest wait or stay low. The cheap levels are the first four of every skill: raising all 22 skills to level 4 costs 66 points and leaves 137 for the 2 point and 4 point levels. The builder shows the points spent against the points available as you change a level, so a build that does not fit is visible before you take it into the game.

Stigma skills cost stigma points and use their own price list: 1 point per level for levels 1 to 5, 2 for levels 6 to 10, 4 for levels 11 to 15 and 8 for levels 16 to 20. One stigma skill costs 5 points at level 5, 15 at level 10, 35 at level 15 and 75 at level 20. The 29 stigma points of level 45 do not reach level 15 on a single skill. All stigma skills first become learnable at character level 22, one level before the first stigma point arrives.

Specializations

Active skills carry five specializations each. Three need skill level 8, one needs 12 and one needs 16. Whether you can use one depends on the open slots: the first slot opens when the skill reaches level 8, the second at level 12 and the third at level 20. The level counts bonus levels as well as points.

A skill learned to its limit of 10 has one slot, so you choose one of the three level 8 specializations. The second slot, and with it the level 12 option, needs two bonus levels on that skill, and the level 16 option needs six. The third slot needs ten. Reaching level 8 costs 13 skill points on any skill, which is the price of the first specialization.

Stigma skills work differently. Their four upgrades turn on by themselves when the stigma skill reaches level 5, 10, 15 and 20, so there is nothing to choose.

Rotation and sharing

The builder holds a rotation strip. Add an active skill to it and the strip shows its level and cooldown, and each slot can be moved or removed. Character level, skill levels, bonus levels, specializations and the rotation are all part of the page address, so the link for a build holds all of it. A build can also be saved in the browser and the last one is restored when you return.
