Aion 2 Genus Insight: EXP, Soul Crystals and Kina per level

Genus Insight is the progression that every pet genus has on its own. A genus has an Insight level from 1 to 10, each level opens a slot of the genus, and spending Soul Crystals and Kina on a slot analysis rolls an effect for that slot while it raises the genus's Insight EXP. The Genus Insight calculator works out the EXP, crystals and Kina that a target level costs from the level you are at now.

Five genera, one progression

Pets belong to one of five genera: Fera, Cogni, Natura, Varian and Special. Each genus levels separately, but the table is the same for all of them: the EXP each level needs, the grade chances and the slots that open are identical. They differ in the pets they hold (65 Fera pets, 41 Cogni, 48 Natura, 46 Varian and 7 Special), in the effects that can roll and in the Soul Crystal they use, such as the Fera Soul Crystal for Fera.

What a level needs

EXP needed to finish each level, the same for every genus:

Insight levelEXP to the next levelAnalyses at 100 EXP each
15005
21,50015
33,00030
45,00050
510,000100
620,000200
740,000400
870,000700
9100,0001,000

Level 10 is the top. Reaching it from level 1 takes 250,000 EXP. Levels 8 and 9 take 170,000 of it, more than the other seven levels together at 80,000.

What one analysis costs

Analysing one slot costs 4 Soul Crystals and 1,000 Kina and gives 100 EXP. The crystals are the genus's own Soul Crystal or Soul Crystal Points. A full climb from level 1 to 10 without any other EXP is therefore 2,500 analyses: 10,000 crystals and 2,500,000 Kina. A short climb is cheap: from level 1 to 5 is 10,000 EXP, which means 100 analyses, 400 crystals and 100,000 Kina.

Pets shorten the climb

A pet gives Insight EXP to its genus as it levels: 500 EXP at pet level 1, 750 in total at level 2 and 1,000 in total at level 3. Marking pets in the calculator subtracts that EXP before the analyses are counted. Raising all 65 Fera pets to level 2 counts for 48,750 EXP, and a climb from level 1 to 3 that already holds 120 EXP then needs 1,880 EXP, which is 19 analyses, 76 crystals and 19,000 Kina.

The client does not state whether EXP beyond a level carries into the next one, nor the order in which pet EXP and analyses are counted. The calculator assumes carry-over and counts pet EXP first.

When each grade becomes possible

An analysis first rolls a grade, then an effect of that grade for the slot. The grade chances depend on the Insight level:

Insight levelCommonRareEpicUniqueHeroic
190%10%
450%45%5%
735%34%30%1%
925%25%39%10%1%
1020%30%30%15%5%

The levels in between move gradually along this table. Epic effects become possible at level 4, Unique at level 7 and Heroic at level 9. The client also holds a Mythic grade, but no level gives it a chance in this build.

The cost of a Heroic effect

Take slot 1 of Fera. Its Heroic pool holds ten effects with a 10% chance each, including Attack Bonus 8 to 16, Max Attack 10 to 20 and Penetration 100 to 200. At level 10 a Heroic grade comes up 5% of the time, so one particular Heroic effect comes up 0.5% of the time, once in 200 analyses on average. That is 800 crystals and 200,000 Kina for one chosen effect in one slot. At level 9 the same effect comes up 0.1% of the time, which is five times as expensive.

Any Heroic effect in the slot comes up once in 20 analyses on average at level 10, about 80 crystals and 20,000 Kina. The calculator shows the range, the chance per analysis and the average analyses for every effect of the slot you choose.

What is not counted

The client lists a lock cost for fixing a slot's result, but not whether it applies per locked slot or by the number of locked slots, so the calculator leaves it out. It also leaves out what a crystallized pet soul returns. The client gives no flat stat bonus per Insight level; a level opens a slot and shifts the grade chances.
