Aion 2 first steps: quests, awakening and dungeon rewards in Taiwan

Start with the story in Aion 2 Taiwan, but check the journal before passing a regional quest. Its rewards can include inventory expansion and progression materials, as well as equipment or titles. When awakening stops your progress, inspect the gauge's requirements instead of treating character experience as the only thing to raise. Before an expedition, check both entry conditions and the energy needed to collect its reward.

Which quest should you follow?

Press J to open the journal. The selected quest shows its acceptance and completion conditions, basic and additional rewards, and a map or movement action. Those fields answer two different questions: whether you can do the quest now, and whether its reward is useful to your character.

Quest categoryWhat to check before choosing it
StoryStory progression, experience and currency, plus any additional item reward.
RegionalProgression materials and inventory expansion among the main rewards; equipment or titles among additional rewards.
MissionThe special reward and the current refresh cost. Missions also come from instruction items.
AwakeningThe conditions and progress shown by the awakening gauge.

You can have up to five missions in progress. Refreshing changes the available missions and can start costing currency after repeated refreshes. Check the price before refreshing again; repeatedly replacing the list is a spending decision.

The selected quest places its conditions above its rewards and its map and movement actions.

Click a quest or use Alt + its number to travel toward the objective. Use the journal's map action when you need to inspect the destination first.

Why is awakening still locked?

The awakening gauge tracks the conditions for the next awakening quest. Story quests, regional quests, strongholds and sealed dungeons can advance it. The next awakening starts when the required conditions are met and the gauge reaches 100%; the old gauge then resets for the next stage.

Open the gauge and look at the missing condition. If it calls for an activity, more experience from a different activity does not answer that condition. This is why checking regional and exploration content matters even while following the story.

The awakening gauge shows which conditions remain before the next quest.

What should you check on new equipment?

Press I to open the inventory. Double-clicking equipment equips it; the equipment action also works. Check the class and faction restrictions before treating a reward as an upgrade. Start with your class, then compare the actual attributes on Taiwan equipment.

Equipment comparison separates base attributes, possible random rolls and requirements. A larger item-level number does not identify which of those changed. Keep a useful piece while deciding; switching an equipment preset returns the previous equipment to your inventory.

Does entering a dungeon guarantee a reward?

An expedition party can contain up to five players, and Elyos and Asmodians can play together. Its entry panel shows the required character and item levels, minimum party size and remaining reward counts. Clearing exploration unlocks conquest for that expedition.

The final boss reward also needs Odyle energy. Insufficient energy prevents collecting it, and insufficient contribution prevents receiving the energy reward bag. Check these conditions before starting; entry eligibility alone does not settle the reward.

A clear followed by leaving without the reward still consumes the separate allowance for cleared runs with unclaimed rewards. That allowance resets weekly and is shared by characters on the same server. Skipping the chest is therefore not an unlimited way to repeat clears.

The reward claim has its own energy cost after the boss clear.

What happens when you die?

Taiwan's ordinary death rules do not remove experience or items. A dungeon death offers return to the dungeon entrance; an appropriate resurrection item can instead restore you where you fell. In-place item resurrection is unavailable after a PvP death. If no resurrection choice is made within 15 minutes, the game uses the basic resurrection option.

Before joining a run, agree on the party's plan for a death and check the supplies you have. For choosing the class you will play, the class pages describe its weapon and role without assuming a particular equipment build.

In-place resurrection and the basic return use different options.
