Taking Ludra's Blade of Extinction from +0 to +15 costs 22.24 attempts, 14,986,721 Kina and 190,650 Enhance Stones on average. The average is not a budget: half of all runs need more. Nine runs in ten finish within 21,580,400 Kina and 252,460 Enhance Stones, and 99 in 100 within 28,100,400 Kina. The enhancement calculator gives these figures for any Global item or for a whole set, from the item's own enhancement steps in the game data.
Average, half of runs, 9 in 10, 99 in 100 and the longest possible run, in attempts, Kina, Enhance Stones and Amplify Stones.
How one step works
Each step from one level to the next has a success chance and a cost per attempt: Kina and materials, paid whether the attempt succeeds or not. On Ludra's Blade the steps from +0 to +10 always succeed and cost 920,400 Kina and 36,680 Enhance Stones together. From +10 the chance falls, and every failure adds a fixed bonus to the next attempt at the same level until the step is certain. A failed attempt keeps the item at its level, and the bonus stays with the level until the step succeeds.
| Step | Chance | Per failure | At most | Kina per attempt | Enhance Stones per attempt | Expected attempts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| +10 → +11 | 65% | +5% | 8 | 360,000 | 9,310 | 1.49 |
| +11 → +12 | 50% | +5% | 11 | 540,000 | 10,610 | 1.86 |
| +12 → +13 | 35% | +5% | 14 | 860,000 | 11,960 | 2.44 |
| +13 → +14 | 25% | +5% | 16 | 1,340,000 | 13,360 | 3.03 |
| +14 → +15 | 20% | +5% | 17 | 1,860,000 | 14,820 | 3.42 |
"At most" is the attempt on which the bonus has made the step certain: +14 → +15 starts at 20% and reaches 100% on the 17th attempt. The calculator shows the same table for any item, with the stats the item gains at each level.
Plan for 9 in 10, not for the average
Average Kina is what a very large number of players would pay per item. One player pays one run, and the spread of single runs is wide:
| Ludra's Blade of Extinction, +0 to +15 | Attempts | Kina | Enhance Stones |
|---|---|---|---|
| Average | 22.24 | 14,986,721 | 190,650 |
| Half of runs within | 22 | 14,440,400 | 186,280 |
| 9 in 10 runs within | 27 | 21,580,400 | 252,460 |
| 99 in 100 runs within | 31 | 28,100,400 | 313,330 |
| Longest possible | 76 | 74,840,400 | 861,010 |
The calculator computes these from the chance and bonus of every step. It does not simulate runs, so the figures are exact and stay the same on every visit. Holding the 9-in-10 figure before you start means one run in ten still asks for more; the 99-in-100 figure covers all but one run in a hundred. The longest possible run is the cost if every step uses its last attempt.
Amplified Enhancement from +15 to +20
Gear that reaches its enhancement cap continues with Amplified Enhancement. On Ludra's Blade the five steps cost
Amplify Stone (Unique) instead of Enhance Stones, and the failure bonus shrinks as the steps get harder:
| Step | Chance | Per failure | At most | Kina per attempt | Amplify Stones per attempt |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| +15 → +16 | 66% | +5% | 8 | 600,000 | 6 |
| +16 → +17 | 50% | +4% | 14 | 900,000 | 9 |
| +17 → +18 | 33% | +3% | 24 | 1,400,000 | 12 |
| +18 → +19 | 25% | +2% | 39 | 2,000,000 | 15 |
| +19 → +20 | 20% | +1% | 81 | 3,000,000 | 20 |
From +15 to +20 the average is 13.81 attempts, 26,248,822 Kina and 196 Amplify Stones. Nine runs in ten stay within 41,900,000 Kina and 305 Amplify Stones. The +1% bonus on the last step is why the longest possible run reaches 372,000,000 Kina and 2,667 Amplify Stones. Set the target to +20 to see the whole range, +0 to +20, in one plan: 41,235,543 Kina and 36.05 attempts on average.
Failures you have already stored
If an item already failed at its current level, enter the count under Failures. The first step starts from its raised chance and its cap moves closer. Ludra's Blade at +10 with 6 stored failures needs 13,908,867 Kina on average to +15, against 14,066,321 Kina with none. The list offers only the counts the game allows before the step is certain.
Planning a whole set
Add more gear with the search under the plan, or open a plan from the gear you already wear:
- On a character's armory page, Plan upgrades opens each piece, or every piece at once, from the level it is at.
- In the character builder, the cost of a loaded character's build opens every piece it raises.
- Every item page's enhancement range opens the calculator with the range you chose.
A set adds its pieces. Attempts are combined exactly. Kina and materials are combined between two exact bounds and shown at the upper one, rounded up, so the set's 9-in-10 figure is never below the true one. The plan lives in the page address, so the share link reopens it. The browser keeps the last plan, and a signed-in account keeps it too.
Runes lose a level when they fail
Runes follow a different rule. A failed attempt on a rune above +1 lowers it by one level ("enhancement failed. The level has dropped."), and the step has no failure bonus. A
Clash Rune from +0 to +10 therefore takes 68,978 attempts and 4,230,566,866 Kina on average, almost all of it on the last steps at 12% and 10%. Half of all runs finish within 47,816 attempts and nine in ten within 158,812. Kina and materials for runes are shown as averages only, because they depend on the levels each run falls back to. In a set with a rune, the spread table covers the other pieces and names the rune it leaves out.
What the game data does not include
The Global game data names an Enhancement Supplement that raises the chance of enhancing gear, but holds no such item and no chance for it, so the calculator offers none. No item protects an enhancement attempt either: a failure costs the attempt and, for runes, a level.
