Aion 2 drop rates: which monsters drop an item and how often

Aion 2 does not show a drop rate anywhere in the game. The drop finder reads the reward tables of each monster and answers the question from both directions: name an item to see every monster that drops it, or leave the item empty and list drops by map, monster level and grade.

Looking up one item

Type or pick an item and the finder lists every monster that drops it. Each row shows the monster, its level, the map it stands on and the chance that one kill drops the item. Rows are sorted by chance, highest first, and can be sorted by level or name instead. The map name opens the page of the monster's first spawn point, or the map when the monster has none.

Balaur's Essence, the material behind Fine Thick Balaur Horn, drops from 16 monsters, all of them bosses:

MonstersLevelMapChance
Seven Unique bosses, including Black Tentacle Lawa and Centurion Demiros45Verteron60.7%
Seven Unique bosses, including Desecrator Newbold and Executioner Barthien45Altgard60.7%
Watcher Kaira and Executor Kaira65Chaotic Lower Reshanta43.4%

The two level 65 bosses stand in a dungeon, so they are the choice when the Verteron and Altgard bosses are not up. The crafting calculator shows the same sources for a material, since the horn recipe takes two essences each.

Every drop row pairs a monster with an item and the chance of getting it.

What the chance means

The chance is the probability that a single kill of that monster drops the item, taken from the monster's reward table. Many tables are chains: a monster rolls a package, and the package rolls its items. The number on a row is the chance at the end of the chain, not the chance of the first roll. A monster that exists in several versions, for example one per level band, shows the highest chance among its versions.

Two limits apply to what the list contains:

  • Only monsters are listed. Items from chests, quests, dungeon clear rewards, shops, crafting and gathering do not appear as rows. The item's own page lists those sources.
  • A row with a chance of zero is left out, so a monster whose table names an item it can never drop does not show up.

Listing the best drops for a level range

Leave the item empty and the finder lists every drop of every monster. Narrow it with the filters:

  • Map keeps monsters that stand on one map, such as Verteron or Altgard.
  • Monster level from and to keeps drops from monsters in a level range, which answers what is worth farming at your level.
  • Grade keeps items of one grade, so Unique or Heroic gear can be listed on its own.

Sorting by level, low to high, turns the list into a route: the first rows are the drops of the weakest monsters in the range. Filters, sort and page are part of the address, so a filtered list can be shared as a link, and each result page has its own address.

Starting from a monster instead

Monster pages carry the opposite list: every item the monster drops, sorted by chance, with the chance on each row. Use the drop finder when you know the item and the monster page when you know where you are fighting.
