Aion 2 Daevanion boards: node costs, crystals and the cheapest route to a core node

A Daevanion board is a grid of nodes around a starting node. Every class has five boards: Nezekan (opens at character level 12), Zikel (20), Vaizel (30), Triniel (40) and Azphel (45). Each node raises a stat or one skill by a level, and each costs Daevanion Crystals. The Daevanion planner draws the boards as the game does and adds up what the nodes you take are worth.

How a node unlocks

The starting node sits in the middle of the board and is open from the beginning. A node can be acquired when the node directly above, below, left or right of it is acquired and your character level has reached the board's level. A node touching only at a corner does not count. The game refuses a node with no acquired neighbour and refuses a refund of a node another acquired node depends on, so a board is always one connected shape around its start.

That makes the order matter less than the path. Taking a far node means taking every node between it and what you already hold. In the planner, resting on a node shows the cheapest path to it and its crystal cost, the figure the game calls the crystals required to obtain the selected Daevanion, and clicking the node takes the whole path.

What each grade costs

Node grade sets the price on every board:

GradeCrystalsStandard boards giveAzphel gives
Common1A small stat, such as Attack Bonus +3 or HP +100A PvP stat, and some HP and MP
Rare2+1 level to a passive skillTwo PvP stats at once
Epic3+1 level to an active skillStatus Effect Chance or Resist
Unique4A core stat, +1.5% eachA PvP core stat, +1.5% each

The game calls the third grade Epic. A standard board of a Gladiator holds 62 Common nodes, 10 Rare, 12 Epic and 4 Unique, which is 134 crystals for Nezekan, Zikel or Vaizel. Triniel has 88 Common, 10 Rare, 12 Epic and 6 Unique nodes for 168 crystals. Azphel costs 232 and uses its own Azphel crystals, a separate pool with a cap of 232, exactly the cost of the board. Refunding a node costs 500 Kina.

Where the crystals come from

Reaching a level gives 4 Daevanion Crystals for every level above 11, so a level 45 character, the level cap in this build, has been given 136. The four standard boards cost 570 together, and the Daevanion Crystal pool is capped at 840. The rest comes from crystals you collect, which the game registers from the Cube. The planner counts what your plan spends against both caps and shows what levelling alone grants beside it.

A board in practice

The Nezekan board of a Gladiator is built around Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction. Its two Combat Speed nodes and two Cooldown Reduction nodes sit in the four corners, each +1.5%. The Combat Speed node in the top left corner takes 10 nodes and 15 crystals to reach, and the figure below shows that path taken.

Ten nodes and 15 crystals reach the Combat Speed node in the top left corner.

Finishing the whole board adds Combat Speed +3%, Cooldown Reduction +3%, Attack Bonus +30, Defense Bonus +300, HP +1100, MP +550, Critical Hit +50 and Critical Hit Resist +50, and 22 skill nodes raise 17 different skills by a level each. The Nezekan page lists every node and its cost, and each skill in it links to its own page.

Starting from a real character

The planner loads a character by region, server and name and marks the nodes it has acquired, so you can see what to take next instead of entering a build node by node. From the armory, the Daevanion section of any character opens the same plan. The planner flags acquired nodes that the character level does not reach.

What is not covered

Brawler boards are not listed, because the game client has no English text for the Brawler's skills yet. The client text also names three more boards, Ariel, Marchutan and Yustiel, but its tables hold no nodes for them in the current build, so the planner shows none. The planner does not know how many crystals you hold, only what your plan spends.
