Aion 2 Global has nine classes:
Gladiator,
Templar,
Assassin,
Ranger,
Sorcerer,
Spiritmaster,
Cleric,
Chanter and Brawler. The class finder asks six questions and ranks the classes by how many of your answers they meet. This guide lists the facts it uses, so you can read the differences without the tool.
The six questions
- Party role. The roles the game gives the class: Tank, DPS or Healer.
- Weapon. Each class fights with one weapon type.
- Reach. Whether the class attacks up close or from a distance.
- Control effect. The crowd control its skills apply: Stun,
Knockdown,
Airborne, Frost, Fear, Polymorph,
Blind or Slow. - Protection. Whether the class shields or recovers HP.
- Mechanic. Summons, stealth or Stamina in place of MP.
Results are ordered by the answers a class meets, then by the number of skills that carry those answers, so a class with seven Stun skills ranks above a class with one.
Role and weapon
| Class | Role | Weapon |
|---|---|---|
| Tank, DPS | Greatsword | |
| Tank | Longsword | |
| DPS | Dagger | |
| DPS | Bow | |
| DPS | Spellbook | |
| DPS | Orb | |
| Healer | Mace | |
| Healer, DPS | Staff | |
| Brawler | DPS | Fist |
Gladiator is the one tank that is also listed as DPS, and Chanter the one healer that is also listed as DPS. Templar is the pure tank, Cleric the pure healer.
Reach
The finder takes the middle range of a class's attack skills. The values fall into two groups with nothing between them: close classes attack at about 4 meters and distant classes at 20 meters or more, so the finder splits them at 10 meters.
- Close:
Gladiator,
Templar,
Assassin and Brawler. - Distant:
Ranger,
Sorcerer,
Spiritmaster,
Cleric and
Chanter.
Crowd control
The numbers are skills that apply the effect.
| Class | Control effects |
|---|---|
| Stun 7, Knockdown 2 | |
| Stun 4, Blind 1 | |
| Frost 4, Airborne 1, Polymorph 1 | |
| Fear 3, Slow 1, Stun 1 | |
| Stun 2, Knockdown 1 | |
| Stun 5, Knockdown 2 | |
| Brawler | Stun 5, Knockdown 1, Slow 1 |
Templar has the most Stun skills, Gladiator the most Knockdowns, Sorcerer is the only class with Frost and Polymorph, and Spiritmaster the only one with Fear.
Protection and special mechanics
| Class | Barrier skills | Recovery skills | Special |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | ||
| 3 | 1 | ||
| 0 | 0 | Stealth 2 | |
| 0 | 1 | Stealth 1 | |
| 1 | 1 | ||
| 1 | 1 | Summon 5 | |
| 1 | 5 | Summon 1 | |
| 1 | 2 | ||
| Brawler | 0 | 0 | Summon 1, Stamina |
Cleric has five recovery skills, the most of any class. Templar has the most barriers. Spiritmaster is the summoner, with five skills that call a summon, and Assassin the stealth class. Brawler uses Stamina where every other class uses MP.
From the answer to a build
Each result links to the class's skill list in the skill builder and to the character builder, so the next step after choosing a class is to plan its skills. The finder keeps your answers in the address, so a result can be shared as a link, for example healers that attack from a distance, which gives
Cleric and
Chanter.
What it does not cover
Brawler is in the tables above because the client holds its data, but it has no skill text in the English client yet, so the English finder offers eight classes and leaves out the Fist weapon and the Stamina answer. The finder compares what the client's tables hold. It does not judge which class is strongest and does not rank a class by playstyle.
